What the scam says

You receive an email: 'Your Geek Squad annual subscription of $399.99 has been renewed. If you did not authorize this, call (888) XXX-XXXX immediately.' Or a real PayPal invoice sent from a scammer's PayPal account: 'Don't recognize this seller? Call (888) 632-2903.' Calling connects to a fake agent who offers a 'refund' — and requests remote access to your computer to process it.
