What the scam says

Classic: 'This is the [County] Sheriff's Office. You missed jury duty. A warrant has been issued for your arrest. Pay $500 in gift cards immediately to have the warrant recalled.' 2025 new twist (FTC-documented): 'To clear the warrant, visit [website] and enter your name, date of birth, and Social Security number.' Both variants end with demands for payment or personal data.
