What the scam says

You receive a call from a voice that sounds like your grandchild, crying: 'Grandma, I'm in trouble. I was in an accident / I got arrested / I need help. Please don't tell mom and dad.' A second caller posing as a lawyer or bail bondsman explains you need to send $5,000-$15,000 by wire, Zelle, or a courier right now. They beg for secrecy.
