What the scam says
'Yes, hello, this is Steve Robertson, independently contracted server with the Association of Professional Process Servers. The reason for this call is we have certified documents scheduled to be delivered to your location. We need to verify that someone over the age of 18 will be available to sign.' No case number, no creditor name, no company address given.
4 red flags
Legitimate process servers always identify the creditor and case number upfront
BBB filed complaint: NARG (National Action Resolutions Group LLC) rated F — linked to illegal debt collection
Same 'Steve Robertson' script reported identically across hundreds of different recipients
Real court documents are delivered by county sheriff or certified mail — not robocall
What to do
Do not call back or confirm your availability
Check PACER (pacer.gov) or your county court records to verify any real pending case
Report to your state attorney general consumer protection division
